"The Atlas moth is a large moth in the family Saturniidae. It is found in the tropical and subtropical forests of Southeast Asia. Atlas moths are the largest moths in the world in terms of total wing surface area (upwards of c. 400 square cm or 65 square inches). Their wingspan is amongst the largest, from 25-30 cm (10-12 inches). Females are appreciably larger and heavier than the male."
